FAI

In 2016, dancer/choreographer, Adriana Hernández and I collaborated to create "FAI", a dance inspired by our mutual experience with hip-surgery. In 2015, Hernández and I both had surgery for femoroacetabular impingements (FAI). We began creating material for this dance just three months after I had my surgery. "FAI" works to validate the injured/healing body, and allows the audience to witness the fragility and resilience of the human body. 

"FAI" was presented by On the Boards Open Studio in January of 2016. Ktisk Contemporary Dance commissioned the work for their company show "Work//Life" in March of 2016. It was presented again at the Seattle International Dance Festival as a part of their Spotlight on Seattle Now series in June of 2016.
